Need advice on carseat vs. booster seat for older children

I need to know what kind of car seat these children should be in, I want safety above all else.

4-year-old boy, 45 pounds, 40 inches tall
5-year-old girl, 38 pounds, 42 inches tall
7-year-old girl, 50 pounds, 48 inches tall

The are very tall children (for their age) but very thin children (except for the youngest boy), I'm just know thinking about turning the four-year-old (he just turned 4) forward facing. I'm think I'm going to put the 4 and 5-year-old in a front-facing carseat, but do you think a backed booster seat would be safe for the seven-year-old? Any suggestions? I prefer Britax brand, the price is high but I like the safety.

what seats are they in now?

I'd have the 4yr old harnessed - britax frontier, graco nautilus, Evenflo Maestro, or Evenflo Securekid 300/400 At 45lbs, he's now too heavy to rearface in any american seats.

I'd have the 5yr old harnessed because she's so lightweight... same seat options as the 4yr old

The 7yr old, assuming she is mature enough (almost all are by that age), I'd put in a booster - Recaro Vivo/Probooster, Britax Parkway SGL, Compass B570, Diono Monterey, Graco Turbobooster, Chicco Strada, or Evenflo Amp HBB

In the Britax line I would suggest 2 Frontiers and a Parkway- if space isn't an issue in your vehicle.
The 7 year old should be fine in a high back booster at this point, as long as they are mature enough to sit correctly in it, only you know your child. The Frontiers will keep the 4 & 5 year olds harnessed for a while yet. Cannot remember the top harness height on them...

Harnessed seats for the youngers and a high-backed booster for the older are fine choices. There's nothing wrong with Britax seats if they fit your children and your car, but there's also no reason to believe that the high price buys you greater safety.
