I was wondering if anyone can tell me if there is any tech semi-local to me. Even a tech in Lancaster county would be awesome.
The reason and background:
My brother has a son. He has a britax boulevard70. He was told by his friend who is a police officer that how he has the seat installed is fine.
I peeked in his truck today. I had installed ANOTHER britax boulevard and he was replacing it with the newer one. He has it in the middle back of a cab truck. It IS rear facing which I have to give props for...at least that was done right. However, he said the old britax boulevard was digging into the truck seat with the towel under it so he took a piece of just under 1/4" plywood; set it on the seat, covered it with a towel and strapped the seat in with the truck seat belt. I used my pointer and middle finger and pushed on the seat...IT slid across the seat and stopped..maybe 1". I then pulled it back to it's original position.
EVERYTHING I know screams this is NOT ok. Not only for my nephew who is IN the seat but also for his siblings who would be seated in the back with him. However, his police officer friend says it is so... my brother sees nothing wrong with it(and btw this is also the same officer friend who told my other brother to use a HBB with a lap only belt AND to use a shield NBB after they've been basically discontinued). I was hoping if a tech was around and I could get him to go to one...or even some information to give him as to WHY this is so NOT ok might be helpful.
Thanks!
