Question So does the Frontier really stink as a booster?

Have my ods's FR85 in booster mode right now (for a friends daughter), but I'm not feeling the love. I've never played with it this way before. I  it in harness mode, it's his primary seat usually, but as I'm playing with it as a booster I'm wondering if I should pass it down to yds when ods is ready for a booster?? Or does the Nauti work better in booster mode? I could switch them seats if that was the case. Just curious, I haven't checked into booster much yet since my kids aren't ready so I'm not really in the loop as to what the good, the bad and the ugly are yet of them! :p

I believe the Frontier got a best bet, didn't it? Personally, I didn't like the way it fit my dd in my car, but in general, I think it's pretty well regarded, and of course, super duper tall!

We actually used it in booster mode on our trip back from Cali with Patrick. His butt was going numb and I felt bad for him. We can shift our weight when sitting for hours, but a harnessed kid can't unless we take a potty stop. Anyways, I was suprised how well it fit him! Of course, I completely forgot to flip the 'foot' back and didn't realize until we got back to Oklahoma. So that may have some affect in how well he slept in it. But the fit was great. Patrick is 43" and 40lbs and 5yrs old. His twin brother was mad that he couldn't ride like his brother...but at only 32lbs and 40", it'll be a loooooooooong time before he's big enough to use it in booster mode!

I don't like the shoulder belt guide, and miss the harness. I added the SG to it cause I'm a worry wart  But I do like the sturdy install that you can't get with other boosters, but because of the sturdy fit, size and weight, it's difficult to move around.

I really like the nauti as a booster but it's top belt path is just a little higher than the FR harness's top setting. I haven't tried the FR as a booster.

We have the old Frontier and just started using it as a booster a few weeks ago. I actually really like it. It fits him very well and is much easier for him to buckle in my car than any of the other boosters he has used. I was unhappy with the tippy nature of the Probooster and finally decided to pull down the Frontier, clean it up and use it and am happy I did!

I have a an original Frontier, not an F85, but I really like it as booster - which is what I bought it for. I had a big kid who still needed a HBB and it was perfect. It was a bit of beast to buckle (but easier than the GN) but that's my only complaint.

We have an original Frontier too (had 2), and the booster was okay. The belt fit on dd was fine, even as a barely-40-lb 5 year old. My biggest complaint was that it was so wide that she'd lock the seat belt trying to buckle herself ALL. THE. TIME.

I like it for my son, who is almost too tall for the harness. It fits him well and has lots of leg support. I think I'll look into getting the sg clip just because he likes to put his legs up and slouch and stuff.

We have the original and I like it as a booster when the kid is older. My DD is pretty narrow shouldered and we really couldn't use it as a booster until more recently (she's 8 1/2 now). The shoulder belt fit was bad. We used the Nautilus and turbo as a booster for when she was younger. She has outgrown both of those by height now but the Frontier and Parkway fit great.

I have the Canadian version of the FR85, and it is the only HBB that fits my DD correctly. We LOVE it.

I like ours but it will likely get handed down to my youngest so she can use the harness then I will likely give it back to the oldest when youngest is boostered full time jsut because its taller.
