Pool noodle foot stool success

So I recently noticed some minor red marks on the back of my DS calves when he would get out of the car after a 15 min ride to Grandma and Grandpa's house. I started paying a bit more attention after that and realized that on the slightly longer rides, he was constantly changing position as much as he can, shifting his feet and what not. My mom and I made him a small one from just a couple sections of pool noodle, but that one just didn't offer the support I wanted for him. So we made him a cube of them and this one looks like its going to work. The only thing that worries me is the string/rope cutting through the noodle with time. But hey, pool noodles are cheap, if I can get a year out of one, I'll be happy :)

When you go to put the rope (I highly recommended rope over string) through the noodles, attach a weight to it. I hooked a pen on the end of it and it made dropping the rope through sooooo much faster.

Update, the string/rope I had started with stretched and started cutting into the noodles :( So I made some changes, I got some pvc pipe (.5") and had DH cut it to fit length wise in the sections of pool noodle. Then I got some thicker rope (I think its also .5") to attach it to the seat. Its much stronger now, I've leaned on it with a significant portion of my weight and it didn't stay down and it didn't go down as quickly as before. We'll have to see how this stands up to my DS sliding out of his seat like he does........

Links to my photobucket, because I haven't figured out how to put pics in my messages yet :)

That might work, but I could see it folding and cutting into the noodle like the thin one did. It'll be worth a try if this doesn't work.
