Question Crotch Buckle

My daughter's diaper leaks every time she is in the car. I think the crotch buckle is compressing the diaper-what can I do to eliminate this?

Which seat? How old/big is your DD? What kind of diapers? (short answer, though, I just used a cloth diaper cover--like a fuzzi bunz without the absorbent stuffing part in it) over a disposable for long trips to keep stuff contained :p)

Are you using cloth? As my kids got bigger, cloth diapers with microfiber leaked in the car too. They weighed more do the microfiber was too compressed while sitting. I added hemp or bamboo with a small mf insert and fixed it.

That is a good idea!
She is in a Britax Advocate CS 70. She weighs 25.17 (had her at ped today) and is 35". Or maybe 37"-can't remember.

Oh-she is in sposies in the car. We have tried Pampers, Huggies, Luvs, Target brand. She is 25 months.

I would potty train. She is probably relaxing when sitting in the car and sending a big pee to the diaper all at once, rather than little small bursts that are easy to absorb...

Otherwise, I'd change her right before, each and every car ride. And, try one size up in diaper or an extra liner w/ cloth diapers.

I say try a bigger diaper as well. I noticed that when my kids were going out of their diapers it was time to go up a size. Always fixed the problem!

I appreciate all of the suggestions:) I went up a size and she has a bug gap at the gussets. I don't know what to do with this kid. She is so long and skinny. I even changed brands around. I guess I am forced to washing her seat. A lot. Sigh.

I use plastic diaper covers for my DS for potty training, along with cloth training undies. I'm wondering if buying some of those would help in the car? If you decide to look at them, I had to go a size small to get ones that would fit around my son's legs. I've discovered that they will hold a full bladder in, along with the training undies.

Maybe Huggies pull ups. They fit differently than diapers but have Velcro sort of on the sides so they are easy to put on and change. If you are willing to try cloth diapers a good fitted with a cover would work well like these plus a doubler http://www.greenmountaindiapers.com/workhorse.htm or the Flip system with the organic insert. I'd much rather wash diapers than clothes and a carseat with pee all the time.

Is cloth an option? We've never had a leak and all we use is Flips or Econobums and their prefolds. Nothing fancy!

You ladies have some great tips! I appreciate them! We do have some cloth, I didn't think of trying the ones with the plastic liner. I have a few Sunbaby diapers but in the car she pees straight through them. I will try some Econobums today!

At night DS pees through his night time diaper. So I just put a cloth diaper cover without the insert over the spoosie. What the spoosie will leak out the CD catches.
