So my moms homehealth nurse called and her car was hit, mom didn't ask how bad it was. She said her car was ok and she said she would be here later so i assume her car is drivable. She has her 1 yo in an AO, so if she is able to drive her car away does she still need to replace her seat?

Dorel (parent company of Cosco/Safety First/Eddie Bauer branded seats) usually says to replace no matter what if the seat was in a crash. Here's an article with some links that might be helpful about crashed seats, replacement criteria, manufacturer's FAQs/contact info., and tips for dealing with insurance companies: http://www.car-seat.org/showthread.php?t=9575

Yes, if you read the manual it will say to replace after any accident. She can get insurance to cover the cost of the replacement seat but she should mention that she needs them replaced when she files the claim.

The only seat I am aware that has a critera for whether to replace a seat after an accident is Britax.

OK, well i told her she needed to replace it or at least call cosco about it. Her car was parked in their driveway and the woman that lived there(the nurse was seeing her DH) she backed right into the nurse's driver's side front door and fender and moved it abot 2ft. I told her cosco says to replace no matter what, but i was not sure if that would be what they consider an accident so i told her to call them and ask. Thanks for all the advice!!!!
