OK so we are due with #2 in Feb 2013 :D & need to upgrade our 2001 Ford Escape to a mini-van because of the kids I pick up after daycare & school & for room to do family trips. So here is what I would like:

- Stow & go or similar storage would be great
- Great heater (the Canadian Winter thing)
- Good safety ratings
- Good handling
- Front wheel drive (minimum, all wheel drive preferred)
- 8 passenger (or 7 passenger that we can easily replace the second row seat to make it an 8 passenger (just because you can always bring someone else along))
- Roomy in the back seats
- Decent cargo area (will likely mean we need the extended model)
- Reliable & cheap to fix
- Easy car seat install would be great

OK I think thats it for now but I am sure you ladies will think of other things I need.

Oh one more thing the budget, not more than 5,000$ (mini-van's don't seem to have much re-sale value in my area so I still have some good choices, I've seen 2005-2006 mini-van's in my price range)

Thanks!

Well i just bought a 2010 Honda Odyssey for my dayhome but thats way more than you want to spend. I think your best option would be to try and find an 8passenger Sienna they are supposed to be great for carseats but I dont' know anything about the options they come with. The thing to really look for is how many tethers are available and headrests if you have older children. I think Caravans have a real shortage of tethers. Maybe a kia Sedona though I know nothing about them, or a hyundia entrouge(sp??). I'm pretty sure the fords and gmcs vans arent' that great. When looking into buying my vehicle I searched through threads on this site by the type of vehicle I wanted and researched them on the internet, I needed an 8passenger though so it really narrowed it down.
