Pre-school bus equipped with carseats!

I went to a 3 year old program orientation the other night and they said the children in this age group would have buses equipped with safety seats.

That's really all the info I have, but it amazed me!

Great! Newer small school buses do usually have seatbelt systems. Also, many school districts that transport pre-schoolers do prefer to use their own seats rather than those from parents for liability issues.

My son attends a special ed preschool and receives transportation. The minivan that drives the children on his route to and fro has carseats. There are 4 kids in the route and 3 of the 4 ride in seats. The district had me fill out a form including my son's height, weight and carseat requirements. I specified 5 point harness only since he will not remain seated in a BPB. Since he's under 40 pounds thats not been an issue for them yet as the seats the ones with 40 pound limits on the harness. Come fall when I fill out the survey I wonder if they will give me trouble on that or get him into a better seat. I can imagine that I'm not the only parent with a kid and these types of issues on their "busses".
