Does a booster fit in a full 15-passenger van?

OK, so the park district said I can bring a booster for my child (a new age 6) for their 15-passenger van. There are 13 kids in the class, so full!

It's an old van with no headrests and just lap belts (but lap and shoulder on the outboard).

Will his Vivo fit and leave room for the other kids? All are aged 6 to 8.

(I've since read that Vivo requires head support but it's not in the manual! Really 100% I must? He'll be outboard and I LOVE the SIP on that seat. He'll be pretty low as he's 6. So, OK to use?) I'd hate to have to get a new seat (for 4 days) because I know the Vivo fits him well and offers great SIP, and is a nice light carpool seat. Thoughts?)

I think they expect me to come with a backless or something...we'll see how this all goes.

Yes, it should fit fine, considering it'll be beside a lap-belted kid :(. I put a Radian in the lap belt between 2 Montereys in my 15-p van. I've also had a Frontier in the lap belt and it left room for my adult-sized daughters outboard (yes, I have headrests ;)).

I honestly wouldn't be that concerned with whether the booster "requires" vehicle head support or not. Belt fit is a lot more important. Whiplash is painful and should be avoided if possible, but it's rare that whiplash type injuries are life-altering. I wouldn't buy a different booster for 4 days just to get one whose manufacturer has a different "opinion" on the subject. We don't have any actual reason to believe the different requirements are anything more than the different opinions of the manufacturers. For example, I seriously doubt a Turbobooster protects a child's neck better than a Monterey, but Graco says it's fine and Diono says it isn't.

The Vivo should work just fine.
