So happy!

Staying at a cousins house this week because she needed a sitter since her sitter quit. We were discussing car seats (she's a car seat crazy too) and she was talking about how her SIL was putting her 6 month old in her car seat and the straps were loose. My cousin goes "are you gonna tighten those straps?" and her SIL goes "well.. That's as tight as they go". Her SIL has an older Graco, I dont think it's expired yet, but it's one where you have to tighten the straps from the back and the SIL was too lazy to get a good fit for her daughter. My cousin then goes "your kid is not safe in the car seat like that." and fixed everything for her. Sooo happy she said something and fixed it for her!

Another thing that happened, or a few things. We went out for ice cream and we saw a three year old. He was getting in the car and I got excited when I saw some sort of Britax seat in the car. He was forward facing, and the tether wasn't attached, but I was happy to see a three year old in a good seat other than a HBB, or one of those crappy 3in1s. I did not however see how he was strapped in, or the install other than the tether. I was kinda bummed about that. The kid was with his grandparents too, and they were very nice. But that's beside the point. Haha

And we were getting our babies into the car and the people parked next to us were getting their what looked like 4-6 month old in her Chicco Keyfit. She had lots of toys in the car, but other than that, the dad did GREAT on the straps and chest clip!!!! Mom even checked to make sure he did it correctly and I was PROUD!! this is in Millis, MA so I think this area is improving!!

I'm right down the road (literally...10 minutes) and it does seem like this area is improving. I see more RF convertibles than I expected. Glad your cousin got that baby strapped in right. Does mom know how to do it now too?

Yes she taught her how. The SIL is very ignorant though. Ugh that family is altogether insane. My cousin's MIL put the grandson in (what looked like) correctly. The straps were a little loose, but the chest clip was in the right spot. She wasn't done tightening yet when we said goodbye
