baby trend infant seats

Any opinions on them? I'm looking at their travel systems. Are the seats easy to use and install? What about the weird triangle handle? I'm having a really hard time figuring out what seat and stroller to get. I know I want to be able to put the seat on the stroller so I either need a travel system or an adapter for whatever stroller I get. And I can't afford to spend tons of money. Thanks :)

They're quite easy to carry. They're not so fun to install in many cars. Either the funky LATCH is easy or impossible in a given vehicle. Seatbelt install is a pain, similar to a Peg Perego infant seat. Handle must be in one of the down/behind shell positions in the vehicle.

Of all the travel system strollers, I'd only really want to actually use the Britax or Chicco ones. If I were you, I'd get a great infant seat at a good price, a stroller frame (like a Snap n Go or similar) that you use for that time (stroller frames are super cheap second hand) and save for a better stroller. :)

Baby Trend is my least favorite infant seats. Installs can be hard. The handle must be down when in the car and that darn puzzle buckle can be a pain in the butt.

I didn't have any installation problems latch was easy in my car. I loved the no rethread harness but the handle thing and the puzzle buckle where annoying.

I had thought about doing it that way with a stroller frame. I do like the Britax b-agile and b-safe but idk if I wanna spend $400. I just think there are too many choices lol. Off to look at frames... :)

This. I have one and I've never had a problem installing it any way I've tried and it's been in quite a few different vehicles.

I owned one a few years ago. Anyway, I loved the no thread harness, but I hated the handle getting stuck, the puzzle buckle, handle having to be down and it was harder to install.

I agree with kq. Stroller frames are cheap second hand, I got mac easy traveller for $30 on craigslist, there's a babytrend snapngo for $10 on there now so I'd check your craigslist. I've never been a fan of travel systems, I prefer a car seat i love and a stroller I love and they don't have to match. As far as babytrend seats, i didn't have install issues, loved the no rethread harness, hated that the handle was always getting stuck and it's outgrown fairly early too.

I agree, get a better infant seat & a snap-n-go stroller.

I really don't think the BT buckets are super horrible, but like the others said, the puzzle buckle is a tad annoying & the handles, well, they are a major PITA. We always struggled to get the handles down. Yes, the seat is easy to carry, but the seats I had, the handles were b!$&h to put down. Me because I'm one handed. But even my DH & FIL would struggle with the handles. Then since they have to be down while installed they take up lots of room.

I never had install problems with them. In the only car we had when we had the girls we did seat belt installs because they didn't 3 across w/ our FPSVD when on their bases.

I only used the BT buckets when I had my girls because they were the narrowest buckets at the time.
