DH and I want to buy a small used mini van for our adult and older teen children to comute back and forth to a junior college but also take younger siblings to events like dance. We have a larger family and for this vehicle are mainly looking for a safe dependable mini van that is smaller. It will need to have lap shoulder belts and head support in all seats. Several car seats and boosters will be used in the passenger seats so they would need to install well too. I would like recommendations and or also if we should stay away from certain vans. We have a Toyota Sienna 04 but Toyota tends to be pricey used plus the Sienna is a bigger minni van.
Thanks, Anna

We paid $3,900 for our 99 Ford Windstar SEL in April. It's a car seat lovers dream come true! No scary Gen 3 buckles, 5 tethers for five seating positions, 4 adjustable/removable headrests for 5 seats, removable seats, locking latchplates  super easy to install seats with these puppies...etc.
We love it. We can also put the 3rd row seat in the middle row to double the cargo area and keep all three kiddos close. And most importantly it has great safety ratings. http://www.safercar.gov/Cars/773.html We really do love ours. It was supposed to hold me over until we could buy our Sienna, but I'm not so anxious to give it up now.

Glad to read, as this is one that we're considering as well. My neighbor has one in a pretty blue color and I have serious minivan envy

Another vote for Windstar. We have a '99 lx and every seat including the driver and passenger seat have top tethers! I love having anchors for my RF seats! We have 2 captains chairs and a bench. I've never met a seat I couldn't install in it.
