2007 Chevy Impala Back Seat Head Rests

I just tried to install my Britax Marathon in DH's 2007 Chevy Impala. It is impossible to do so properly because the Impala has fixed head rests that tilt forward in each position of the backseat. What can I do?

We will check into having the backseat modified by the dealership/manufacturer. However, is there a restraint that could be placed in the backseat in the meantime? It would need a shorter height than the Marathon, and our old Graco Comfortsport also couldn't fit, but it was close.
DD is 44 pounds and 38 inches.

TIA.

Have you read your vehicle manual? Most vehicles are coming with these forward headrests now - designed to protect adults passengers, but a pain with car seats.

Some manufacturers work around solution to this is to have a slight recline adjustment that can be made and that gets the headrest out of position enough to not interfere with a car seat. I haven't read my neighbors manual and she doesn't have kids/car seats, but from looking it looks like she does have a position her seats could be moved back into. She drives a fairly new Chevy sedan with fixed headrests.

Anyways, look in your vehicle manual under the child restraint section. (It will be located in the same area as where it talks about seat belts and air bags - the index will give you the exact page.)

This is a question popping up more and more with newer vehicles - it would be great if you could report back with what your vehicle manual says about car seat installation.
