Not sure if this has been asked before or not but I cant find it in owners Manuel is there certain harness spots that cant be used rearfacing? I know on some evenflo seats you cant use top spots. Also can the hugs chest pads be removed for rearfacing?

Since the head can't go more than 1" from the top of the shell (not headrest), there are a bunch of clicks that can't be used rear facing.

There's no restriction so long as the head is 1" below the hard shell. Variations in head, neck, and torso length mean those slots could be vastly different for different kids.

Yes, this. DD has a large head but a pretty typical torso and the headrest is now a click above the shell to give her a good harness height (not too low) but the top her of head is still at least 2" below the hard shell.

Practically speaking, there will be several clicks which won't be used rear facing but it's not stated in the manual that the top X number (or whatever) of clicks can't be used. It depends on the child.
