My 6 year old can get out of the Nautilus (old and new buckle) and the Frontier on her own. I don't find the new Nautilus buckle hard to unbuckle. You just have to push in at the right spot.

My 4.5 year old can normally unbuckle his FR85 and old nautilus. That's all we have for him so not sure how'd they compare to others for him.

M (5y) can both buckle and unbuckle her Prosport, as long as the harness is a bit loose. She buckles and then tightens herself in (I double check of course) and then when it's time to get out I lift the lever, she leans forward to loosen the straps then unbuckles herself.

He, he...it's not whether my nearly 4 yr old can buckle or unbuckle it..it's whether or not *I* can buckle/unbuckle it! LOL ;)

All of the new seats I've checked out in the store have horrible buckles. I have a really tough time w/them (I have an autoimmune disease and my hands are affected the most). My mil won't be able to unbuckle any of these on the rare occasions she drives him.

Thanks for the suggestions!
