RA Question

I'm too lazy to look for the information and I KNOW someone knows it off the top of their hand around here:). What is the measurement of the lowest slot on the RA?

Here's why I'm asking. Tea is 19 months old. She weighed in at 21lbs 5 oz at her 18 month check up. I can't remember her height, but she was in the 25%. She's on the small side, obviously. She's RF in her RA and she is still on the bottom slots. Is this normal? I have never seen another child in a RA at her age still at the lowest slots. I don't know why it bugs me. She's not that leggy, certainly not like Kaylie and I who are ALL leg and no torso. She looks like she's more porportioned that us, but I can't get the little monkey to sit still against the wall to measure her torso. She's still got about 1/2 inch before she's even with the 2nd slots and it seems like she's been stuck at this spot for months and months.

Now, for RF, I know that the straps have to be at or below her shoulders. Is there any danger with how much lower?

I believe the bottom slots on the RA are 10". My middle dd was in the bottom slots rf for a LONG time, she is really tiny as well.

My 3 year old is RFing in a MA on the 2nd slots. And he is just right AT the slots. As is my 4 year old in my siggy! They have the exact same torso height. He was in the 1st forever!!! She may just be short torsoed and petite. Lucky you! My kids are too and we don't fly thru clothes and car seats like friends seem to.

IF the straps are slipping off her shoulders because they are sooo much lower down her back, then that is not safe.

If the next slots up are less than 1/2 inch above her shoulders and the bottom slots are causing the straps to slip off her shoulders, I would move the straps up a slot. This would be the only time that I can think of that straps below the shoulder would be an issue.

Edited to add: My 27 month old is still in the second slots of his MA for rearfacing.

I haven't had any issue with the straps slipping off, so I guess the best practice to just leave them until she's even with the second slots.

She just looks weird in it to me. She's got plenty of room between the top of her head and the top of the seat, but the straps are just so far below her shoulders. I wish she would she would just get there already!
