My Dh was talking to a guy at work who has his 4 year old/41 pounder in a HBB.Well Dh told him even though he met the requirements that it is safer to practice EH for a few more years(I have him "trained").Then of course the guy asked for "proof" that even though they met the requirements that a 5 point was safer. So other then the race car theory:p,is there any cold hard proof my dh can offer him?He thinks that the goverment would have a increased age and weight in thier law if it wasn't the "safest" practice:rolleyes:.

Since when did the gov't has "about and beyond" laws. The law are the bare minimum, for people that just don't get it.

Here's what I've been using:

These videos are crash tests which show the initial impact of 20-30mph.

Rear facing:

Front Facing Five Point harness:

Front Facing 4 point harness (Rideryte):

Front facing using car’s lap/shoulder belt and a high back booster:

Now imagine that after the initial impact, your car/van rolls over, runs into something else or is run into another vehicle. Which position would you rather have your child be in?

OMG, after watching that lap/shoulder belt video, I WANNA HAVE A 5 POINT HARNESS FOR ME! Waaaaah! That belt doesn't stay on the shoulder at all after the initial impact. Then if someone else runs into you or you roll or something, like you said - doesn't look so safe anymore. :(

Hmmmm, same thing happens. It just shows a blank screen and says Done in the lower left corner. Must be my computer if others can see it!

I just tried this from my post and it worked fine. In fact, just clicking on
"Frontcrash-Video "
made it go straight to the video file. It opens in windows media player for me. I am using Explorer and have pop-ups enabled.
