It was sad to see so many people who bought expired seats at today's sale in town. They were lugging them around.
It's that seat or nothing, my aunt said. Probably true, but sad.
In an area with nearly 100% carseats compliance, I caught a glimpse of an entire community (low-income, Hispanic) that had either no seats (lots of kids standing in the back seat) or expired seats in terrible condition. Most DID have seats, just not safe, current ones.
And the garage sales enable this to some extent I guess.
Plus, people don't know seats expire. They have no clue.
So a lot of carseat info is not reaching this population.
