We have a 2001 Subaru Outback wagon. Has anybody successfully installed a Britax Boulevard 70 rear-facing? How do you do it?!

Hi and welcome to car-seat.org :)

You should be able to get the Boulevard 70 in rear facing in your Outback. I'm not sure if your 2001 Outback would have LATCH in it or not, but if it does, the weight limit is 60 pounds including the car seat and the child. If this is the only car seat you're installing, try in the middle with the seat belt (LATCH isn't allowed in the center). If you can't get an acceptable installation, try either outboard seat with both the seat belt and LATCH- not at the same time- to see which provides a better fit.

After you've read through your vehicle and car seat manual, you can watch the videos that Britax has posted http://www.youtube.com/user/BritaxUSACarSeats/videos?query=boulevard+70

Here's information on rear facing tethering which is allowed with Britax convertibles, but not all other brands. http://carseatblog.com/12749/how-to-use-a-rear-facing-tether/

Feel free to post pictures of your installation if you'd like us to look at it. You can also search our list for a CPST near you http://www.car-seat.org/showthread.php?t=59135

I did one a few weeks ago and we didn't have any issues.... I'm sure we probably twisted the buckle stalk, but that's all I can think of. What specifically are you struggling with?
