Question 09 forester, will a radian work?

Hi there! Thanks for your time!

I have an 09 forester and really want to keep my 2 year old DS rear facing. I have read on forums including this one that it's not possible to install a radian. I am also looking at a peg perego primo viaggio sip convertible or if I have to FF him a britax frontier or recaro prosport. My DS is tall 36 inches and around 32 pounds. He is kinda a wide build as well. Any suggestions, success stories, other car seats you recommend. We are in a my ride 65 that he is close to outgrowing. Thanks a million!

While it fits fine on the passenger or driver's side, the incompatibility between the RF boot on the Radian and the high seat bight is a real pain. It absolutely does not work in the center, even if the seat belt issue is fixed with the recall. The console in the center seat doesn't work with the Radian, no matter what.

(I have a 2009 Forester and a Radian. I made it work RF in the passenger side, but I wasn't comfortable with how it had to be jammed in and used a different seat altogether.)

I've put it in the center in a 2005, 2008 and 2010 model forester. I wouldn't say incompatible, just leans a little on the more difficult side.

And the radian fit better rf in the 05 without the angle adjuster than the myride did.

What did you do to make it work in the center? We're planning on keeping our Subaru until it dies, and also planning on having more kids. I would love some tips!

Honestly I really didn't do anything different than normal. I'll keep a radian in my car (2006 Subaru impreza) and see if I can borrow bf's mom's forester this weekend to take pictures. I have friends with the 08? I think as well.

Did it have the flip-up cupholders in the center?

I wonder what I was doing wrong. DD could have RFed a little longer if I had been able to make it work safely.
