Does anybody have experince or know anything about compass products or the compass b500 booster seat. Looks like I have to choose between that one and the Britax bodyguard. I like the bodyguard and the locking mechanism, but I'm not sure how my son will tolerate the heads wings - he says it looks like a bird. The compass is similar but without the locking mechanism.

Compass is a new company and this is their first product. The company was formed by former Evenflo employees who wanted more freedom with their products than Evenflo would give them.

The Compass is a nice booster and is very well-padded. I'm not sure the folding feature would be that useful when traveling. It also doesn't adjust as high as the Bodyguard or other comparable boosters, so it wouldn't work well in the long run for a child who is tall or tall in the torso.

It's really personal preference whether your son will deal well with the wings on the Bodyguard. I tried my son in the seat last year and he didn't like the wings especially. Other kids love the seat.

Thanks

Thanks for your reply. Is your son still using the bodyguard or did he cause you to use another ? I tried to find a store at lunch today to see the bodyguard and Compass seats, but BabiesRus and Target only sell them online.

I think the lock outs on the Bodyguard make so much sense especially for a 3 year old just transitioning to a booster. I'm so concerned that he'll slouch down and be unprotected in a regular booster. I'm hoping the lockouts will keep him a little better in place.

Thanks

Actually, I was just trying him in the seat to see what it was like. I chose to keep him in a harness longer and bought a Safety Baby Airway instead.

Do you have a baby specialty store in your city? It might have both. You can also try using their web sites to look up store locations.
