Question outgrown advocate/ERF options

LO has about outgrown Advocate RFing & I'd like to know what I should look at--ensure is in stock--when shopping. From what I've read in past threads, I gather the Radian is our best option. What else should I check out?

We drive a pre-LATCH Camry, mid 90s.

We'd like to RF as long as possible.

I don't know what he weighs, maybe 30lb. He's about 3' tall.

We won't have to move the seat weekly, but often enough that easier to install would be great. The ease of using our current seat in cars with LATCH has made schlepping this beast less of a drag.

We're likely to have a car with LATCH at some point in the next couple years.

How old is he? The tallest convertibles are the Diono Radian, First Years True Fit, Safety 1st Complete Air and Maxi Cosi Pria.

They're all significantly taller than the Advocate and will last substantially longer RF. The True Fit does only have a 35 pound RF limit though, so depending on his age that may not be the best option. All the others have 40 pound limits, and the Radian R120 and RXT have 45 pound RF limits. The Complete Air has a 40" stated height limit rather than using the 1" rule so that's important to take into consideration too.

What year Camry? One thing you might take into account if your Camry is pre-1995 and you don't have locking seat belts is built in lock offs. The TrueFit has lock offs, but only RFs to 35 lbs (I don't believe any of those others the PP recommended do). Still, I'd much rather put a TrueFit in a 1992 Camry than a Radian, but I'd much rather buy a Radian for a 1997 Camry for the higher weight limit.

(Gee, that looks confusing. Hope it isn't.)

Thanks so much to both of you. He's 2.5. Our camry does have locking seatbelts--it's a 97 or 98. I'll be sure to check out the Pria, as well as the Radian. Thanks again.
