True fit harness folding

The true fit buckle tongue slots seem to be too short. My true fit has had about 2 years' of use (wow! I've actually kept the same seat for that long!) and now the harness is folded just a little bit on the side of the harness in the area where the buckle tongues sit. I use the seat for multiple kids. (It's the easy to change seat for the car.) The folded area ranges about 4 inches surrounding both buckle tongues. It bothers me to no end! I always have nice, flat, not twisty harnesses, but this one I can't keep unfolded. This isn't a safety issue is it? Anyone else have this issue? Or found some way to fix it?

Mine's folded on occasion. I just unfold it and go on. It doesn't generally refold.

You could always call First Years for a new harness, see what they say.

I have the same problem. it doesnt fold alot but its like the holes on the buckle tongs are just barely too small and it causes it to crumple or fold slightly. i figured there wasnt much that I can do about it.

Aslo Ive had a TFP for over 2 yrs now too. I  it so Im not suprised it hasnt left the rotation(ok maybe for a few months right after our crash)

Semi-OT, but I had a similar issue with one side of my GN harness. It took me forever to get it unfolded the first time, but it hasn't happened since.

Mine does the same thing. It happens more often when the harness is super tight...like when my little guy rides in shorts and a t-shirt, and then I put a sweatshirt on him, and try to stuff him into the seat without loosening the harness. Also when he isn't seated just right, or the harness isn't up on his shoulder just right where it should be. I just unfold it and make sure he is sitting properly before I buckel him in.

Hmmm mine always looks like this as well, so i hope it's not a problem...seems I have to correct it about every other time I put ds in. Never thought too much of it, just thought the slot was a bit too small...:p

Mine is not that severe but the edges do roll in slightly... it annoys me but i never considered it a safety risk :)

My true fit harness has also been folding by the buckles...I have been wondering if wipping it down with water to clean it would help reduce the folding (I need to check the manual again first to see how they suggest cleaning it).
