I'm doing a little comparison project.

I would like (in metric measurements if possible)

1. the horizontal measurement between harness slots on the RA40. (from one harness slot to its mate)

and

2. The measurement of the width of the harness strap.

Thanks! I'll give rep!

I have a 2005 RA 50 at work I can measure tomorrow if no one else helps out - would that help you or does it need to be a 40?

I gave my 40s away or I'd get your numbers if a 50 will do I'll have one after DH gets home.

Measured in the back/plastic, from middle of one harness slot to another is 7cm.

Measured in the front between where the slots are in the cover it's just a little bigger, 7.5cm.

harness strap is 4cm wide

Adjuster strap is 2.5cm

hth!

(i'm assuming that this is the RA40 which allows RF to 33 lb and FF to 40 lbs. when i got the seat 5 years ago, i don't remember a specific "40" designation.)

i wanted to add to what rxmommy provided. the horizontal harness measurements are slightly narrower/smaller for the lowest setting, then it flares out to to 7cm at the highest setting. (makes sense since a smaller baby isn't as wide.) i had to convert to metric, so forgive me.

- highest setting: 2 3/4 inches => 7cm
- middle setting: 2 5/8 inches => 6.7cm
- lowest setting: 2 1/4 inches => 5.7cm

these measurements were taken from the cover side only. maybe rxmommy can be more precise and doublecheck by measuring with a metric ruler. (i didn't do this to steal rep; i just wanted to help. you can give rep to rxmommy who helped more, especially since i'm not sure what 'rep' is or how you give it.) good luck with your project.

Sorry! I measured wrong. Forgot the "horizontal" part. Those are vertical measurements. I will re-measure today!

Okay I measured on the front with the cover. Can do measurements on the back plastic too if you need those. I just didn't have anything to write with and I would forget a bunch of numbers if I did it all at once! :eek:

Top slots: From inside corner to inside corner 7cm from outside to outside 17cm

Middle slots: inside-inside 6.5cm outside-outside 16cm

Bottom slots: inside-inside 5.5cm outside-outside 15.5cm

also, the harness slots are not straight across. they slope slightly downward, sort of like to match the shoulder sloping if that makes any sense.
