Any new HWH seats coming out?

DS is about to outgrow the MR in my ILs car. There's NO way I'm putting him in a booster. MIL can barely get the MR unbuckled and its the buckle that you just push down, not in. So there's no way in heck she would be able to get the radian undone and the nautilus has the same sort of buckle. Are there any fairly inexpensive options? Maestro is out as DS is hovering right around 50lbs. I don't know that I have the confidence they would use an RSTV properly. DS will be 5 in September, 44" tall and 48-50lbs.

The Evenflo SecureKid is the only one I can think of that is cheaper than the Nautilus and harnesses up to 65 lbs.

The new First Years combination booster is supposed to be out sometime this fall if I'm not mistaken, but I don't think it's going to be inexpensive :/

The SecureKid buckle is similar to the current Nautilus buckle. It can be hard to buckle and unbuckle.

Does the SecureKid have the same buckle as the Maestro? IMO the Nautilus/MyRide buckles are the hardest one I've tried. And the Maestro is a little stiff compared to my other seats but doesn't bother me.

And if anyone knows if there might be a new Britax Frontier 85 or similar by the end of the year, I'd love to know!

I'll be in the market for the seat (assuming it's the only one with the 20" top slots) but can wait for a new model if it's coming...

The SecureKid has the new buckle that everyone hates. Except a couple of people.:) The trick is to push it in at the top. Teach your kid to do it himself. Matthew has been for a very long time. He was 4 in December. He struggles a bit the the Secure Kid getting the tongs in, but he can do it.

Unfortunately teaching him to do it himself won't work. He refuses to even try. Though I'm fine with that because if he doesn't know how to do it, he won't do it at random times when he's not supposed to. He's an extremely impulsive kid. How easy/hard is the RSTV to get in and out of? I think MIL mostly has trouble because she has long fake nails.

The RSTV is cumbersome and takes time, but not difficult. And she could buckle him all in while standing at a convenient place outside the car (or even in the house) and only have to deal with the seat belt (which is pretty much the easy part, but not super fast) in the car.
