Harness adjusting on a SR30

I just ran across something really interesting today!

I knew that you could lengthen or shorten a harness on a Snugride by which loops you attach from the splitter plate.

What I did NOT know is that you can also lengthen or shorten the harness at the hips!

Of course if I owned a SR30 and had therefore read the manual cover to cover I probably would have known this. But I have yet to run across an issue of needing more harness length at a seat check, so this was new info for me.

Am I the only one (not counting people who own or have owned a SR with this feature and presumably have read it in the manual) who didn't know about this?

I found out about it while watching this video made by Graco... the first part is all the normal stuff we all know; the hip adjustments are shown beginning at 7:08. http://youtu.be/s4Hf7U0x-x8

I am so glad I know about it now. I'll probably NEVER need it. But I somehow feel better knowing it. :D

I have an SR30 that I used for DS and I never knew about the hip strap adjustment. I did get the seat when he was 4 months and it was already set to the longer length.

I did find out about it when cleaning up the seat for DD2. I moved it to the shorter length and I am glad I did. At 2 months she still needs the shorter length as she is a peanut.

Ah, it's tucked in. Yeah, the Safeseat/SR32/SR35 have always had this feature, but I didn't recall noticing it on the SR30 when I played with one, but it's tucked in...on the bigger seats it's just hanging out all obvious. No one at the store has yet complained about tight straps on the SR30, but if they do I'll know what to tell them (it happens often with the SR35, so I even point it out when people are registering for it).
