Question 2002 Toyota Tacoma Extended Cab

I know there is a similar thread on here, but hoping someone has found an infant seat that will fit into the back of a 2002 Toyota Tacoma Extended Cab? We have a Chicco Key Fit 30 infant carrier and base. I just tried installing it into the truck and there's no way that's going to fit. I'm okay with getting a convertible seat for my husband's truck if needed, but I need to do it soon! Anyone successfully had an infant in this truck?

That has the fold down seats in the back, and the seatbelt and LATCH that just won't tighten, right? The little table type seat with no squish? I don't think anything will work back there because there's no way to compress the backseat to make an installation tight. The Keyfit works in the front seat, and there should be an on/off switch with a key for the passenger side airbag.

Hello!

Checking in on this thread to see if there are any car seats available now in 2017 that might fit in the back of a 2002 extended cab Toyota Tacoma with the featured described above.

Thank you,
Tiffany

Following! Also looking for a current (2017) seat for rear facing in a 2002 Toyota Tacoma Extended Cab with fold-down seats. We're looking at this truck as a spare vehicle, but need to be able to transport our 6 month old in it.

Thanks,
Katy

With the seats Wendy described above, the only type of seat I can imagine working is possibly one with rigid lower anchor connectors. Examples would be Nuna Pipa, Clek Foonf and Fllo with or without Infant Thingy, and Baby Trend Inertia. I have no idea if even they would work, though. As Wendy said, find how to safely turn off the airbag in the front passenger seat.

The Fllo has no rigid anchors, the Foonf does forward facing only. The Baby Trend is too big front to back, it'll have overhang, not to mention the seat itself generally doesn't fit newborns. The Pipa would probably install, and it'd probably work, but I don't think it'd fit. It's not small.
