Help me find a back up car seat

DS is 25 months 24lbs (10%) and 34.5 inches (50%), He is very leggy and is on the middle slot in his Radian R120 rear facing. This will be for my in laws car and they don't have him very often so comfort won't be too much of an issue. I need something that he can erf in until at least 3 if not longer and then something that he can stay harnessed in for a long time after (although I don't mind buying another seat at that time either) price range under $100 if possible

My 5 year old is on the top slots of the radian. When we tried this seat at Walmart she was also on the top.slots. I wasn't able to measure them but they are very comparable to the radian. I really like the guide 65 from what I've seen and for $80 you can't beat it!

Thanks!
I sat him in it at walmart today and he seemed like he was too big for it. Bit I wasn't sure if the head rest adjusted and made the seat taller??? On the website it says up to 40" though. Also I am not sure because I used to have a safety first all in one and I hated the chest clip and the harness twisted up easily, although this may not be an issue if the car seat is not used very often

The head rest movess up in the back of the seat and it can be used rear facing until their head is even with the top of the head rest in the top position.

He's very close to my 25 month old's size and we just got her a True Fit Premier. They're more than $100, but not bad if you watch for a deal. It would last really long rf and ff. we love it so far. I can see where the adjuster would be harder to use in the non premier models though. I also like her in the Complete Air but it has rules that I don't love (45 degree recline and 40" max rf though it's tall).

I have seen on here the height limit is 36 in" but on walmart.com it says 40" and the safety first and dorel websites don't say a height limit. I just don't want to buy a seat he is going to outgrow rear facing very fast

So in your opinion/experience the 65 RF to the same height as the radian? Or are you referring to it for FF use?
