Question Rear tether route for Frontier 85 in 2011 Odyssey

My almost 4 yo DD rode RF in a TF until a few months ago when she reached 35 lbs. New baby on the way who will use TF, so I bought a Frontier 85 for her use in harness mode. The Versa Tether is a brand new creature to me, and I am struggling with routing the rear tether under the headrest. I got a solid install with LATCH (she's holding steady at 36lbs) in both the center and outboard seats in the second row of my 2011 Odyssey, but when it came to routing the tether in the middle seat I just couldn't seem to make it work. Even in the outboard position it just seems...weird. The tether is wider than the headrest posts and doesnt lay flat. I've got it very snug but am concerned that it isn't correct. Unfortunately, the only certified car seat technician left the area and there isn't anywhere here that is certified to take it and have it checked. Any help would be appreciated!! I'd prefer her to ride in the middle if possible (if I can make it work with the TF outboard, which I think I can). Thank you, Kara

Usually the tether is routed around the headrest, since it is so much wider. Just let it fall naturally down the seat. Not sure how it'll work on the center seat, though.

You can remove the headrest, I think. The Frontier does not need a headrest behind it and if it's interfering with the install, take it off. Just remember to stow it safely in the trunk, or somewhere else where you won't lose it!

Thank you. My Honda manual states removing 3rd row headrests is acceptable but of course says nothing about the 2nd row...and all diagrams indicated tether strap should go under headrest, but of course they only show illustrations of a single tether strap. I will try both of those suggestions!
