Question Cleaning a seat

Could use some help figuring out how to safely clean the plastic parts of a seat. Between snacks and juice accidents and potty accidents our seat is disgusting and SMELLS! I've tried everything I can think of short of hosing it down...

Take the straps out and use lysol. I just use the regular lysol I have in the kitchen, a toothbrush and a wash cloth. I normally vaccum it out first with the crevice attachment.

Hold the straps out of the way while you spray down the bottom. Behind the straps spray the lysol on the dish cloth and wipe it down.

I'm not above hosing a seat down if it's bad enough. I'd do that over lysol because I don't like the chemicals in lysol. I'm not sure how they might affect the integrity of the plastic of the seat.

I take the cover off and undo the straps as much as possible, then I take it out on the driveway and spray it down until it's clean. Toothbrushes and qtips may be required. ;) Then towel dry the seat and especially the straps. I get them as dry as possible and let it air dry the rest of the way.

How about vinegar and water, non toxic but gets rid of any smell. Remove straps 1st. Not sure if vinegar would hurt straps.

I'd use vinegar and water, or lemon juice and water or (although the foam from this can be SOMETHING so I do one and then the other, not both at the same time) vinegar/water and then baking soda

the key with vinegar (or lemon juice) is to let it set and ease the smell off.

I get a bit high just scrubbing my bathroom if I have to use lysol (and I dilute it), so even though Jeffrey doesn't react to it the way he does to bleach (he used to, though), we're sticking with using vinegar or lemon juice mixed with water to clean.
