Would you feel ok using dawn on a harness? DS stepped in oil this morning and got a huge blob all over his harness. I'm probably going to end up ordering a new harness anyways.

Dawn dish soap

I don't think dawn qualifies as a mild soap plus it would depend on the seat as to whether any soap is allowed. The oil will probably do more damage than the soap. I'd use a backup seat until you can get a new harness.

I talked to Jenna at diono and she said soap and water it ok. Didn't seemed to concerned about the oil. Unfortunately we don't have any spare seats. Here is the spot.

Hmm, since they used Dawn to clean the oil off those poor birds after the oil spill in the Gulf, I would have considered Dawn to be "mild!" 
If it were me, using a tiny bit of Dawn and a wet washcloth on the oil spot to try and get the spot out wouldn't worry me. It's not the same as filling your sink up with sudsy Dawn water and soaking the harness in it. I can't see the pic of the oil on my work computer, so I can't tell how large it is.

That was my though also. They use it on animals. I was thinking of trying a toothbrush.

I would only use the blue original one.
