Has anyone seen it? They show an adult turning to look at their child in the back seat. Good news- the kid is in a 5-point car seat. Bad news- the harness is so loose and the clip so low that it looks like the kiddo could be thrown from the seat in a collision.
I backed up the commercial with the DVR 5-6 times to get a good look (until DH finally pleaded with me to watch the rest of his program).
I could not identify the car seat (looked like a Graco chest clip, but I'm not sure). But it hardly matters - any seat woulld fail if used so improperly.
Grrrrrr- how can all of you technicians possibly win the battle to educate parents on proper usage when car makers promote such awful use in national advertising.
This commercial has me very angry. I think car makers should be required to have certified techs onsite at the filming for any ad involving car seats so this kind of bad advertisment does not happen.
I'm thinking of telling Kia exactly what I think about that commercial.
