Hmm, which seat should I buy?

And yet another update in post #53.

Updated with another pic in post #36.

Update with pics in post #21.

So here's the situation:

Gavin is going FF in my vehicle. I tried him in the R120 and was not comfortable with the seat belt guides next to my big kids heads but I loved, loved, loved the way the seat fit where I needed it. I also tried him in the MR and he fell in love with it and wanted nothing to do with the R120. I however, after using the MR a few times now, am not a huge fan of this seat FF. It does fit nicely where I need it but I'm not feeling the love for how reclined it is and how deep the seat is.

I just sold one of my classic MA's last night on CL for $125 cash. I also have a Visa gift card for $50 and if I buy a seat at BRU I have a $25 gift card there as well. So in other words I have either $175 to use anywhere or $200 to use at BRU.

I'm thinking of getting either a GN in Breakers or an RXT in Daytona. I know both will fit where I need it to (used to own a GN and had it in the seating position I would need it in now). I'm thinking Gavin will probably like the GN better because of the cup holders (that's why I think he loves the MR so much) but I'm having withdrawal from my R120 Daytona cover already. Man did I love looking into the back seat and seeing that beautiful cover.

I'm not really looking for a long term seat because as many of you know I change car seats like people change there underwear:p so the chances are that I'll probably end up buying another seat sometime down the road any way just because.

Soooo...which seat?

Hmmm I just happen to have 2 GN's in breakers. Just in case you wanted to meet up to have him try it out. I think we would need at least KAC and Lemonade to make sure he likes it. :)

well, your siggy pic makes me think that whatever seat you choose, make sure it's one where he won't have any flopped head and can sleep comfortably

After having taken one out of the box and seen the headrest, I would also see if an evenflo securekid would fit your space... the headwings are so ample and the headrest doesn't seem like it would cause the head slump that the nauti sometimes does.

lol. Thanks for the offer but I think I may actually run over to my TRU after work today and check out the DOM's on their GN's.

I'm not sure why but I'm just not a big fan of evenflo seats.

the blaze prosport would look pretty since you like red, I'm guessing the fr85 won't fit where you need it?

Another vote for Blaze Prosport! I love the prosport!

Now if you really want to get something from BRU, a Breakers GN.

My kids all had less room in the RXT and didn't seem as comfortable than the GN and they love the cupholders. DS2 has a tendency to headslump so thats why I would pick the prosport over the other two but the GN rather than the RXT if those were my only choices. Oh, and blaze is pretty!

if the prosport would fit, I vote for that, too... I've seen pics of others on here with their kids sleeping comfortably and recaros are so nice.

I love the Nautilus, so that's my vote. :) Does the FR85 not fit there? That's another option.

Ooh, I but  the ProSport. What position was he on in the ProSport? 2nd to top? I'm looking at the picture from BBB, but can't remember.

Is your only complaint with the radian the seat belt guides? You are talking about the plastic things that you put the belt through in booster mode, right?
If you don't plan to use it as a booster, can you take them off? Aren't they just sewn on like some evenflo seats?

They're not plastic. They're metal. My DD got her shirt stuck in it yesterday climbing out of the car and it left a nasty mark.

The FR doesn't fit as well as I'd like it to in the spot I need it in. I may try it again though.

I'm not sure on the Prosport. I believe he was on the 2nd to the top slots. I love the Blaze cover but I wasn't really feeling the love for it when we tried it out with you at BBB, but I may end up getting one any way if I can find some place that has free return shipping if it doesn't fit where I need it and I don't like it once it's installed.

Yes, my only complaint is the seat belt guides. They are not removable and they are metal and stick out of the seat and are the perfect height for my older kiddos heads to hit them if we were ever in a side impact.:(

So I did go ahead and pic up a GN after work today at TRU (DOM 12/15/11:)). It was on sale and after tax it came to $144.44. I had a $10 off coupon, a $3 birthday cash card, a $25 TRU/BRU gift card, and a $50 Visa gift card. So I ended up paying $56.44 out of pocket.:D I didn't have time to play with it until just a little bit ago so of course Gavin is already in bed so we'll have to see how he likes it in the morning. I set it up for the 3rd slots for him (hope I guestimated right). Still don't know if I'm in love with it so I may try and get the FR to work again there but IDK. I just want to find that seat that just makes me go  and I'm just not sure what seat that is now.:(
