i was thinking that it would be cool if they made like a smart car, that "knew" who was in it and if your kids werent in properly installed car seats, and buckled in correctly, the car would be like, "i'm sorry but i wont start till you learn how to properly restrain your child."

i just had a 3 hour nap before my shower so i'm a bit groggy, but it seems like a cool idea to me

LOL *imagines somebody late for an appointment and the car blaring "LEARN TO RESTRAIN YOUR CHILD CORRECTLY!!"* I don't think half of the people would even be able to TEST DRIVE the car, but that would be cool!

That would be a GREAT IDEA!!! Like you scan in the carseat ID, type in the birthday and it will tell you "YOUR CHILD IS NOT BUCKLED IN, DO YOU WANT THEM TO DIE?, PLEASE TRY AGAIN" I would laugh my butt off!!

lol I can definitely see people driving around with it blaring away in the car though lol Kind of like the new Fords have the loud BING if you don't have your seatbelt on? Drives me nuts.

There was/is something like that.... I forget what it's called, but the carseat supposedly announced when it wasn't used properly & not Britax has some digital feature like that, too  Who else remembers that carseat? I remember a discussion here about it a couple-few years ago!

Although, I imagine it was a bit more polite than "Do you want your kid to die?!" ROFLOL

I think they still have one at great beginnings. A seat that says if it is used right. I dont really like it. Not the talking think just the seat it self. Looks bad and not padded very well

Yeah, I know I was interested in it for a bit when it 1st came out because I figured then I wouldn't worry so much about my parents babysitting during exams, but the general concensus was that it pretty it much sucked for the $ (not because of the warning, just the rest of the seat itself)

I think it was called the "tattletale" or some such, and it was just a basic (Cosco?) seat that cost big bucks because of the verbal alarm.

The Britax Advocate also will do something like that. Well, sort of. :)

It will tell you if the carseat is tight enough in the car and if the harness is tight enough. It will also tell you when the seat expires.

That's funny. They have those now for people w/ DUIs, they have to take a breathalizer and people who don't pay thier bills. lol If your payment is late it won't start. Why not carseats?!
