I'm hoping to provide daycare for a friend, but it will require me to fit 2 rear facing car seats in my middle row, and 2 front facing car seats in the third row. I have been told by Acura that this is possible, however when we took our car seats to the police department for installation, the 3 officers gave up after an hour and a half! They said the problem was a combination of the angle of the third rows seat back, the angle of the belt, and the seat belt clip hitting the belt latch and coming loose. They would get them installed securely, and three minutes later the belts would be loose again. When we called Acura again they said it would be a matter of which car seat we had as much as the car, and they had no recommendations!

What I need to know is if anyone has successfully installed a car seat in the third row, and if so, what was the make and model please!

I found a couple of pictures of the '03 MDX's 3rd row. Other than forward of the bight belt stalks, I couldn't see anything that would make the installation overly difficult.

What kind of seats are you trying to get back there? Are your seat backs adjustable (like can you recline them)?

When you say they were having trouble with the seatbelt clip, do you mean the latch plate on the seatbelt or were they trying to use a locking clip?

it's 2, 4 year olds, and 2, 1ish year olds. The front facing ones we tried are two different safety first models and an evenflo convertible one

the female part of the seat belt sticks out of the seat and faces very forward. when they were trying to use the seat belt lock to secure the belt, it was hitting the seat belt connector and coming loose because of the angle.

neither the acura third row nor the car seats i have can recline. do they make car seats that recline, or did you mean the acura's bench?
