Which car seat is better

Neither is safer than the other, when used properly. They both pass the same tests.

However, in real life, the Radian is far more often recommended. The Recaro sits up very high and has very little leg room. Rear facing that means you have a tiny little space in which to get kids in and out. The Radian, OTOH, has loads of leg room and sits low, so there's a lot of room to maneuver a child in and out. The Radian has higher rear facing weight limits, and a taller shell. The top slots aren't as high as the Recaro, but the Recaro is so narrow internally, and offers so little in the way of leg support forward facing that most kids are out of the seat long before it's actually outgrown, simply because they're uncomfortable. The Radian is very often used until it's outgrown.
