Question Britax mossy oak marathon

What would be a reasonable price on this seat. Someone I know is selling one for $125. She said she bought in 2008 but would check the DOM When she got home. I'm assuming it would be 2007 or possibly 2008 DOm so it would expire 2013 or 2014. How much more is the Mossy Oak cover worth than a plain cover? What would be a reasonable price for a seat w/ 1-2.5 yrs of life left on it? Thanks

I say that's too much. I think what you do is divide the original price by the life spam of the seat, which would be 6. So if the seat cost about $200 originally, divided by 6, that would be roughly $33 per year, if is has 2 years left that around $66 dollars. However I don't know how sought after the cover is, so it could make the price jump up a bit, but If it were me, I would save some money and spring for a brand new one that costs $195 at Target, instead of paying $125 for one that might have less than 2 years left.

I agree with PP about figuring out useful life, but THEN I would add a little for a good cover (I'm not a fan of the Mossy Oak, but a lot are, and classic MA covers fit RA50s). I probably wouldn't as more than $80 at the most.

I do think $125 is too high but I know the mossy oak cover is quite sought after so it could sell for a decent amount on eBay. I might pay $100 for a seat with a cover I really love knowing I could keep using the cover on another seat after it expires or sell it on eBay later to make some of that money back.

That sounds really high to me.

Mossy Oak is a cover that many do seem to like; I cannot imagine paying anything for that cover (I truly abhor it), but some seem to seek it out. :shrug-shoulders: So, as the others said, possibly eBay would be successful?

I LOVE the mossy oak! I actually love anything camo & it would be going in DH's trick which would make him super happy. Well actually I think I like Camo more than him though. :)

We're in the love Mossy Oak camp also and actually have 2 Mossy Oak Marathons. I have a friend who's buying a MA70 now and is so sad that she can't get Mossy Oak anymore.

Ok DOM is 12/7/07 so I asked if she would consider lowering since it only has 1yr &8 mo life left. She has someone else that is going to look at it tonight & if she passes then she would let me know. I will show her how I figured it up & then see what she lowers it to.

How old is the child this is for?

I have a Mossy Oak MA. I  it, as does my entire family. I think $100 is the high end of reasonable, $125 I wouldn't buy it. I'd sell mine for $80-$100 on the mainland. Up here, if I were selling, I could probably get $150 for it.
