AOE base removable

I am doing a long distance help with an install. I know that some of the newer AOE seats do not have the removable base. Does anyone know if a seat from Aug 2010 would? Also is there a video anywhere of how to remove it?

I talked my step sister into re-refacing their 15 month old, but now they can't get a good install :(

I thought I read somewhere here that dorel returned to the removable bases, but I don't really know. I haven't actually seen any new aoes up close.

They have gone back and forth on this.

There ARE bases that can be physically removed and you are permitted to remove them.

There ARE bases that can be physically removed but you are not permitted to.

There are bases that cannot be physically removed, are straight in design, and cause no install issues.

There are bases that cannot be physically removed, are flared in design, and cause major install issues.

There seems to be a pattern of Elite models having non removable straight bases, and install is fine.

Cheaper models seem to have non removable flared bases, total pitb.

Honestly, I can't begin to guess what a 2010 AOE would have. I'm guessing it's a flared base since there are install issues.

If you cannot reference the booster portion of the manual (it's the fastest way to determine if the base can be removed) then you're going to need to contact Dorel with the model number and DOM.

Mine was made in either aug or sept 2010 and is non removable. It is the Eddie Bauer version of the seat but as far as I can tell the only difference is the cover...

 Lovely

Thank you so much, I have her looking for the manual, the other problem is that they have 2 with 2 different dates and she is not sure which manual goes to which. I think a call to Dorel is in stock.
