Before I give my kid color choices, I want to make sure I can live with them. Thank you!!

Hmmmm. I have both, but describing them is a little more tricky. Cardinal is more "slick" feeling. Maui has a softer feel, more like a cotton/poly blend while cardinal is more nylony.

Clear as mud?

Yeah. And no, Maui isn't like Livia. It has a more fabricy feel and livia is like wind pants. :)

Between my PWs and my FRs I've got a lot of fabrics. ;)

Does Cardinal feel slick like onyx?

Does Maui feel like any other car seat fabric? Maybe like Riviera?

I want Cardinal but unfortunately the F85 doesn't come in it (I don't want SICT), so I'm trying to found something else LOL.

I just wanted to say that I love maui blue! DS has 2 frontier 85's, both with that fabric. It's soft without being slick or plush. So far, it has held up really well and hides stains. When we first got the seat, he spilled some kind of liquid and it left an outline. You couldn't even tell unless you were looking closely. When I washed the cover, the stain disappeared and it looks good as new!

Not exactly like Onyx. It doesn't have the texturing onyx has, but it's not as slick as Livia either. Maybe think like a well made backpack? That's the closest thing I can think to describe it as.

I love Maui too. Not too cold in winter or too hot in summer. DD picked Cardinal for her PW and she really likes it.

Maui reminds me of cotton canvas that has been well broken in. Textured but soft, not slick at all.
