Darn it, I think my F-150 is on the list...poor Leaky the truck...the last thing the bugger needs is to take a trip to the dealership. He already has 275k miles on him lol

My 1995 F150 was on the list (The list is longer than that news report: Search your vehicle on this site: http://www.internetautoguide.com/auto-recalls/01-int/ford/index.html ). I took it in to the dealership, signed a few papers, and I was out of their in five minutes. By the time I sat down at the desk for signing papers, they were done. I didn't even have to make an appointment, but it may be necessary at a busier dealership.

There is no charge for this, so if your vehicle is on the list, get it done.

Thanks for the expanded list.. My '00 Focus is on it.. :( The one we rarely drive anymroe..

Never mind.. that list just showed all the recalls on all the vehicles throughout the year. That isn't specific to this particular recall. So, as it turns out, mine isn't on the list.. :)

Janice, you scared me! My mom drives a Focus, and I ctrl+F and didn't see Focus mentioned anywhere! My dad's Ranger is too old for the recall, and my FIL's Explorer is too new.

October is for the cars. The truck parts have been out for a while, as I had mine done last fall. Basically what that's about is until they get the harnesses manufactured and distributed, they will disconect the hot line, which will eliminate the risk of fire from this source, but will also deactivate your cruise control. In October when the parts are available at your dealership they will install the harness and reconect, which will keep the fire risk eliminated, and reactivate your cruise control. Two months isn't too bad to be without cruise.
