So I have this newish job, working 2 days a week in a busy pediatric therapy clinic. I have really only mentioned in passing that I am a CPST, and only to a couple of people. Today, a therapist I have known for a while was faced with a bad car seat situation with one of the clients here, and said "I think Jessica does something with car seats. Let me ask her!" So this afternoon, I am checking a seat and hopefully providing some info to a mom that has already been ticketed multiple times for having her kids improperly restrained. I'm in AR. For a cop to even know a kid is improperly restrained, it has to be BAD.
Then, I was talking to another OT about booster use for her 7 year old DD (wondering if she was old enough to be out of one.) and my director was in there as well. We started talking about the other situation as well, and she is now all excited, wanting to get a bunch of employees here certified (there is currently a grant here, so tech class is free) and start providing checks periodically to our clients and to the community. Woo Hoo!!
