Safety 1st strap covers... anyone know?

So I had been in contact with Dorel about the straps bothering DD's neck and my last e-mail sent to them I told them that I was in the store and saw that some other Safety 1st seats had the covers and asked if they could just send me a pair of those. The woman told me that NO Dorel car seats being sold right now have the strap covers as it's been determined that the straps can hold up better without them. She said that some floor models may still have the covers but none that are for sale Fair enough, except two days ago I purchased a Safety 1st Enspira and it DID have the covers. So, was the seat not supposed to be sold if the strap covers were on it? (that seat was VERY quickly returned!!) or is she just pulling my leg because she doesn't want to send me a pair? Anyone buy a Safety 1st seat with strap covers lately?

Dorel customer service seems to just make things up as they go along.

I was told the Complete Air SE was discontinued in November and that it never came without the plastic harness cover things. Then I saw there was a new model number and specifically asked about it. I was told there was no change between the model numbers. Well, I took a chance and ordered it anyway - DOM January 2012 and no strap covers.

What you're looking for is soft, comfort covers, right? That's not what I'm talking about. The covers it came with are the stiff plasticky ones that cut into DD's neck.

Yes, I'm looking for soft ones. But since "their seats no longer have them", I will just make my own for Grandma and Grandpas car. Just super thin, but the straps actually broke the skin on her neck so I need to do something.

And also, she hasn't returned my e-mail since I said that I just bought a seat with the covers on them. Interesting.

There are most definitely Dorel models that have strap covers. Not all of them, but some of the seats do.
