Questions about Britax Decathlon

Does anyone know what the height is of the top slot?

Is it considered one of the "classic" seats? I have read enough about the FF issues with the "classic" seats to not want one.
My friend has one her dd is done with from her parents car and offered it to me for $10. She is checking the date for me tomorrow. I think it would be awesome if it fit in my van in the 3rd row for the 3 yr old I watch because it goes to 65 pounds and she is about to outgrow the CarGo by weight but still has room to go by height.I am just uncomfortable with a classic seat FF. I have no Britax experience with the older seats, just the new generation. Thanks!

Yep, it's a "classic" seat (I feel like I'm describing the music I listened to in high school as "classic rock" and I'm feeling old right now).

What do you dislike about the classic seats? A three year old should work well in it, so provided it's not expired, never been checked as baggage, has had the recall fixed if applicable, hasn't had the harness washed, and hasn't been crashed, you're good.

I remember reading about the harness straps ripping through the shell in crash tests on the classic MA. That scares me.

I know it has never been checked and hasn't had the harness washed. I didn't know about a recall (I will be searching in a minute for info) and am still waiting to find out the manufacture date.

That was on an expired seat. Or if you're thinking of the Transport Canada testing, there are a lot of threads here to put your mind at ease.
