After my questions yesterday, I did some research. There are various daycares that use vans to transport kids here, many in town. The one I just spoke with uses a 10 passenger van, no carseats. Kids are as young as 4. They said they only use the lap belt seats.
I had NO idea. So, because our park district is one we use a lot, I need to check with any program we do to see which type of transport my kids would be in. I'm OK with their buses, but the van...no.
Anybody else see this a lot? It just seems like little kids in lap belts (or in these vans that roll over anyway) is not a good idea. But it's apparently not breaking any laws. Crazy!
