Updated info: Not feeling the APT love today

Tried DS in the APT today in the store, and for those who do not know he just turned two in November. He is 20-22lbs and 31in tall. He is just small all around. He has maybe an inch and a half above his head RF, but FF he would be right at the top slots or maybe a quarter in below them. I guess if we do get it for the in laws car it might work for the year we need it too since he grows so slowly, but seriously! Then pass it down to baby and get him something more long term or shift seats in their car if DD is booster ready by then.

Update: Sorry he is 34in tall.

Does he have a big torso? My DD (19m) is bigger than him in height and weight and had tons of room above her head.

This was about 17 months.

Sorry updated stats he is 34in not 31 I must have been tired when I typed this. But yeah he does sort of have a long torso. He must grow legs sometime. He wears a 3T 4T for tops and 18mon pants. But his shirt size not solely for length either so hard to tell it is also partly due to significantly enlarged head size. Button up shirts he can wear a 2T. But with his heart condition and all else thrown in I would like to try to find a seat for him to RF in still. But not spend an arm and a leg since he only rides with these grandparents like 4 times in the six months they are in the state. But will not be able to move mine when I am in labor and they come to pick him up. (DH is not capable of doing a proper install, trust me I have tried many a time to teach him but just not happening).

Ideally if the seat lasts him a year that would be fine since in about a year we will need something in their car for the baby, so it can be passed down and then get this little guy something new again then or my oldest depending if she is booster ready.
