Yesterday, I bought the Evenflo Titan for my 11 month old who weighs 25 lbs so I would have a lightweight rear facing travel seat that offered some padding for comfort and wouldn't be too hard to transport. But the install must be super easy because I'm going in and put of taxis for four days, and I am not experienced at installing as it is. It requires a locking clip for many seatbelts, which I don't want to deal with. I want the easiest seat to install rear facing that's reasonably light weight and price isn't a consideration at this point. I have to be able to buy it locally because I'm leaving tomorrow. I have a Britax Marathon but don't want to travel with that beast, lol! Thanks!!!!

The Titan does not require a locking clip any more than any other seat does. If you are installing in a vehicle with locking seatbelts, which all vehicles made in the 1996 model year or newer do, you do not need a locking clip. Most taxis don't make it to age 16 -- they really take a beating.
That's really good to know! Do I just put the seat belt through the path and tighten so there's no slack, and just buckle? Is it an easy seat to get a good fit? Is there a better option out there that I can buy in a store?
On the plane, do I just get an extender and thread the extender through? Can I put my son ff on plane so he can watch see the TV (JetBlue) without changing the harness strap position which is threaded through the rear facing slots?

I would not recommend putting an 11mo forward-facing on the plane (although it's not a super-hot-button issue for me as it would be in the car), but if you do, you need to have the straps above his shoulders, so yes, you would need to adjust the straps.

I would recommend keeping the car seat rear-facing for several reasons. I found it was easier to interact with and take care of my children when they were riding rear-facing on the airplane. When the kids drop (or throw?) toys, more of the toys end up by their feet or on the seat where it's easy to reach them. It's much harder to pick up toys that are on the floor, especially under a seat where a car seat is installed. My kids slept better in the rear-facing position too. There is a ton of stuff to look at and do with children on the plane so not being able to watch TV was never an issue for us.
Legally, I think you have to install the car seat per the manufacturer's directions which requires the seat to be used rear-facing for an 11 month old.
