Question Radian XTSL memory foam

DS had his first potty accident in the car yesterday, so I pulled off the cover (which needed washing anyways, yuck) and the foam under his bum is 1) disgusting at the belt holes and 2) pretty hard. It's like it's lost its squish -- what caused that? I'm sure he's spilled liquids back there before, so maybe that's it. Anything I can do about it, or should I just see if I can replace it?

Personally I would try and soak it in warm water and then dry it out and see if that helps. You could call Diono and see what they recommend also.

When my son had accident in his XTSL I just rinsed our memory foam with warm water and let it dry out, it was fine after.

I wouldn't soak it in water for long, more like put it in a bucket w/ warm soapy water, then swish it around and press it between two towels.

No idea on how/why it's hard, would wonder what was on/in it to do that, sugar (from juice) or even the urine reacting w/ the sugar?

And, sorry about the mess/work involved in cleaning it. I did mine Sunday and....what a pain!

I washed it with the cover in a top load washer on handwash. Then I put it in the dryer on super low/air only on the stationary rack thingy our dryer has so it didn't tumble. It was squishier when it was done, but you could always try calling to get a replacement. Diono was great about replacing my RF boot when I called last week.

Ours got that way too, the foam was squished and hard. I called Diono to buy new ones, and they sent me 3 for free (we have 3 radians).
