When would you stop using the SG?

Just wondering when people would stop using the SG clip on a Parkway or Frontier (if you got one to use with the booster)?

DD has only been using the seat full time for a month or so (she turned 6 in January). It's on there now and I don't plan on taking it off until I need to wash the cover again (so probably at least 6 months out). By then she'll be at least 6.5yo, she's already 45lb so possibly closer to 50lb by then.

Just curious what other people's thoughts are on it? More by size/weight or age? (I should have made a poll)

Submarining is most risky for smaller booster riders, like...smaller than 40 lbs.

So, the fact that Britax's minimum weight on the PWSG/L is 40 lbs and it's equipped with the SG has always baffled me. But for the 40+ lb crowd, it doesn't pose any harm, so whatever. And, of course, it can assist in better lap belt positioning.

DS1 has never used the SG on his PWSG. He got the booster when he was 8 years old and over 60 lbs, though, so I wasn't super concerned about submarining. Additionally, when we "tried it on", it was extremely uncomfortable for him - it kind of mashed up his *stuff*, if you know what I mean.

So, to answer your question, I, personally, would likely be OK with not using the SG on a child over 5 years old, who has adequate belt fits, who is fully booster trained, and who also weighs 45+ lbs.

When would you stop using the SG?
