I think it's great that they're trying, if they would switch some of the wording to correspond with more modern understandings/weight limits I'd be happy! The only other thing I'd like to see is a referral for additional help (website, safe kids, local place that has CPSTs who do seat checks, etc).
If they add TOO much people won't bother reading.
See, I see room for so much more information that could be added.
I know they know if they don't keep it simple then it isn't going to be looked over anyway, but this just seems so lacking to me.
I really LOVE the NHTSA flyer, I think I will actually give this a try. This is the exact Info I would like parents to read, this flyer given to us from the preschool is a nice guideline but lacking to me. I wish it had a little tidbit about expired seats as well, even if it was as simple as saying that car seats do expire! I see so many crazy old car seats in use!
Glad I'm not the only one, ds is on spring break now but I'm going to print the NHTSA flyer and take it in when ds goes back to preschool. To see if they will start using it, Maybe give them some websites they can go to themselves to see their is better info out there then just what is on the paper they are sending out. I think this paper just sort of reads the BARE minimums and gives the parents the frame of mind its OK to put their child in a booster even younger then 4. Since the flyer reads under Forward-Facing Child Seat in parenthesis (up to about 4 years old)..I would also be bothered by their info sheet and would probably try the NHTSA flyer. I think it is important to stress that a child should remain in the lower steps as long as possible, especially RF.
Yea, that's what I said, if it isn't simple and short then parents are not going to even bother.

I really like the above flyer though.
