Cheapest was to ship a MyRide!

I think I just found the best was to ship a car seat back to the manufacturer. I just shipped our MyRide 65 back to the company for $18.00 which included Delivery Confirmation. I was told it couldn't be done... They were wrong, everywhere said it would be $65-85.00.
I basiclly took an oversized box and cut it down to fit the seat really tight. And used a lot of tape. It looks like a giant L when done. This wouldn't be a good way to ship a good car seat that someone plans to use again. They are replacing ours. I forgot to take a pic when I was all done. Since it was under 20# (16lbs 7.4oz) and under 108in (length + around the biggest part) I was able to ship it Parcel Post, at our Post Office.

Cool. Just curious though, why didn't they pay return shipping? I just sent a MyRide back to Graco a week or so ago. They sent me a prepaid label.

This confuses me. I just shipped a MR today in it's original box. The original box fits the MR like a glove height and width wise. Even making an L out of the box wouldn't have changed the dimensions considering you have to measure the widest part. So how exactly did you get it under 108 inches?

I shipped mine parcel too since it's just a few inches over and pray they don't measure. I've done this before with another seat and it made it fine. Don't flame me either please...I'm a big girl and I know what I did.

My husband didn't know not to wash the straps, so it was technically our fault, so they wouldn't provide a shipping label.

If you wrap the cardboard tight and stand it on end that is the length. then they take the girth(circumfrence) around the corner of the L. I didnt have the original box and it didn't fit in the other boxes I had.
